October 9, 2026 - Colombia-born, Berlin-based producer Funk Tribu continues his prolific run of releases with a brand-new collaboration alongside trance pioneer Armin van Buuren. Originally created for their set at Armin’s unique face-to-face series, the track later developed into “Nirvana”, their first collaboration.
“Nirvana” stays rooted in the foundations of trance while bringing together Funk Tribu and Armin van Buuren's individual perspectives on the genre. Armin explains, “Funk Tribu is one of the most exciting new faces in trance for me. He brings a different approach to the genre, giving it a fresh, youthful twist that I really admire.” Funk Tribu adds “Working on this track with Armin has been one of the most exciting things in my career. Being able to share ideas with someone who has shaped electronic music for so many years taught me a lot and makes me appreciate what I do even more.”
“Nirvana” is about letting go of everything around you and being completely in the moment. Euphoric leads and layered synths give the track a sense of release, while the driving bassline and punchy percussion keep it firmly on the dancefloor. The track fuses classic trance roots with more contemporary elements, combining its atmospheric, nostalgic side with a harder, high-energy sound.
Adding to Funk Tribu’s growing catalogue of releases,“Nirvana” follows a prolific run of music. Alongside his own productions, he has been steadily building his profile globally with appearances at major festivals and clubs around the world, including Tomorrowland, Dour, Lollapalooza and EDC Las Vegas, continuing to develop his sound and expand his presence across the international scene.
